Via Ira, Christophe Coenraets, a leading Adobe Technical Evangelist, is coming to Boston to discuss and show the latest capabilities of the new Creative Suite 5.5 which includes Flash Builder 4.5, Flash Catalyst 4.5 and Flex SDK 4.5. All are welcome, food is provided, there will be goodies raffled, and it is all free. Details & signup are at http://www.bostonfug.org.

Although FB4.5 is a dot release, there are some major changes, including much more powerful cross platform development, especially for mobile platforms like Apple, Android & Blackberry. The optimizations for these target platforms appear to be impressive. Come see it in person & try it for yourself.
There are also lots of workflow and SDK changes that affect Developers and Designers. There will be ample time for questions and demonstration. Christophe is a very hands on presenter with deep knowledge of the product. He frequently answers questions by building an example on the spot.
This will be a great session. A full agenda will be posted shortly, but to give you a sense of what will be covered check out these:

Here are the Full details and registration information.

There will be some great speakers including mobile related sessions.

RIA Unleashed is the premier event for Adobe Flash, Flex, AIR, and ColdFusion developers in the New England area. This year the event has expanded to two days, November 11th and 12th. Day one is devoted to your choice of hands-on training in areas such as Flex, Flash, AIR, AIR for Android, and ColdFusion. Some highlights of day one include Scott Janousek covering AIR for Android, Mike Labriola teaching component development in Flex 4, and Bob Silverberg on ColdFusion 9 ORM.

Day 2 is the conference day, featuring 4 tracks and over 20 sessions on Adobe technologies and development. This is the best event to get all the scoop on the announcements and releases from Adobe MAX. Speakers from Adobe include Ryan Stewart, Adam Lehman, James Ward, Greg Wilson, Christophe Coenraets, and Terrence Ryan. RIA Unleashed also features some of the most well known and respected members of the Flash, Flex, and ColdFusion developer communities including Jesse Warden, Jesse Freeman, Raymond Camden, Charles Schulze, Brian Diette, Jeff Tapper, and Chuck Freedman among others.

Using our special discount code (BOSTONMOBILE), registration is currently just $175 for both days–that includes the hands-on training, conference day, the Thursday night party, and lunch on both days. You can also just attend the conference day sessions for only $50. Tickets are limited at both prices, so get them before the price goes up. Also, the hands-on training has limited seating, so sign up soon before it fills up. Keep in mind, this event sold out early last year, so register soon!

John Barrett from the Hawaii Flash User Group has put together an online eSeminar. The meeting will cover the building of the application (Flex & Air) and will demonstrate how the applications was ported to Flash Lite (2.1 & 3.1) & the iphone as well.

Please view the Calendar on the Adobe Groups site page for the Hawaii Flash User Group:
http://groups.adobe.com/posts/e9f2391409

You can see the application and the connect session will explain how it was built:

http://nuclearpathways.org/clients/max/ (since max is long over I don’t think the on-line application is still functionally)

Please RSVP early, as I would like Chris to see that there is interest in the meeting.
The meeting will take place on January 27, 2010 at 3:00 pm Hawaiian Time. (check your time)
