LMMUG and Commercial Flash Lite
Well, this is my little hello to the FlashMobileGroup, so I thought I would try and make it of some use by posting on a couple of Flash Lite related happenings in the past week, so here we go…
First up, today David Williams published an Artifical Intelligence bot, written in Flash Lite 1.1 on his site at: www.mobile.chatebot.com. I think this is one of the first commercial products I’ve seen released outside of Japan. I’ve written some quick thoughts about it on my personal blog, which you can read here.
Somewhat related, we had our London MMUG meeting last Thursday in which Mike Downey, Flash Product Manager came down to introduce some of the new features of Flash 8, and answer a few questions. During the meeting we had what we like to call a “Flash Jam”, where 4 speakers were given just 11 mins to introduce a feature of the new IDE. I took to the mobile related stuff such as the emulator, and also some JSFL to convert some basic AS2 into Flash Lite 1.1 compatible code (contact me for source). The session went very well, and you can see some pictures as well as download the mp3 recordings at the following site (in polish – links are halfway down).
Hopefully I’ll get the chance to post some more on this site in the future! So if there is anything you’d like to see covered in particular, please do drop me a mail.
